So, when God gives us snow (and Mommy wants to scream because of all the work she should but can't be doing) we make snowmen. It was the perfect consistency for rolling large snowballs. 6 inches of wet snow and 38 degrees outside. I didn't get any pics of the process because I was too busy having fun.
When we went outside I had no idea how perfect the snow would be for rolling so I didn't prepare any snowman accessories. Not to fear! My sister put together some bowls of veggies for the kids to decorate their men.
Hannah was very proud of her snow girl. She held the veggies into place while I packed snow around them so they'd stay in.
Christopher did the buttons and mouth all by himself but I hda to do the eyes and nose because he couldn't reach.Hannah's snowgirl had a face for all of four minutes and six pictures. Then she realized that lunch was coming up and she was HUNGRY! The buttons were the first to go, then the mouth, eyes and finally the nose.
Poor, empty faced snowgirl.
I didn't get very good pictures of what Christopher did to his snowman but it included climbing it, knocking his head off and tunneling a hole through his middle. Punk :-)
We had a fantastic day! Now, what to do with the 20+ inches coming tomorrow...?

Those snowmen are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm a failure at making snowmen... ours was all of a foot high and kept falling apart... but it was fun! :)
Those are huge snowmen! I'm way impressed. When your mom is 5'2" not 5'10" I think you get shafted :-(
ReplyDeleteWe made a snowman with leftover snow. Not nearly as cool as yours:

Enjoy the second coming of the SNOWpocalypse! :o)
Wow! Those are some of the best snow men i've ever seen. You guys have real talent. I can't wait to see what you do with the two feet tomorrow! Also, i love the veggie heads. Awesome idea.
