We were in a parking lot the other day and Christopher was messing around and not buckling. I backed up, pulled out of the spot and headed for the exit while the kids hollered about not being buckled.
When I turned out of the parking lot Hannah yelled, "MOM!! Christopher is NOT BUCKLED IN!! You are driving out on the OPEN ROAD and he is not wearing his seat belt!! We are going to have to get a ticket and it will be ALL YOUR FAULT!!"

This one isn't so much funny as it is really interesting and I don't want to forget it.
Hannah says, out of the blue, "Mom, you know what I'm thinking about? The picture that goes with this word."
"What do you mean, what word?" I ask her.
She says, very serious, "You know how sometimes words make you think of a picture?"
"No, give me an example."
"Like Colorado."
I am paying close attention at this point, because I have NO idea what she's talking about but it seems really interesting and I don't want to miss anything. I ask, "What picture goes with Colorado?"
"Two squiggly lines." She says, like I should already know that.
I ask her, "What other words have pictures."
Without hesitation she says, "Louise." (Her middle name.)
I am totally lost and ask, "What picture do you think of when you hear Louise?"
She says, "A fish. But like a funny looking fish."
And then I think she realized that this isn't normal and said she couldn't remember any more. I am definitely probing this again in the future.
